The JOY of ABUNDANCE!

History was created on Sunday, 8th March 2026 at Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium! India became the only country to ever defend a Cricket World Cup trophy! Add two more victories to it – and it becomes even more impactful!

On 2nd November 2025, Indian Women Team won the World Cup; and on 6th February 2026 Indian Under-19 boys lifted the World Cup too! It’s currently a dream run for India as a cricketing nation!

Former South African captain and ex-Indian Coach Gary Kirsten rightly said, “India’s system has grown so strong that the country could ‘literally pick three teams’ capable of competing at the highest level!”

This is the joy of abundance! There is so much talent in the country that the selectors are having an extremely hard time to select the best 15 players amongst a vast pool of players, which keeps adding more and more talented cricketers! It’s a great headache to have! Needless to mention – it’s been a planned strategy and focused efforts of about a decade to reach at this pinnacle!

While Indian Cricket can boast of the innumerable talent available, as individuals/ professionals/ entrepreneurs/ parent/ homemakers/ etc, we need to take a leaf out of their book! In whatever we are doing today, can we boast of abundance? Or are we still fire-fighting and somehow managing even after years of doing the same thing?

Abundance is not only monetary, but in all things/ roles of our lives! It can be – resources, skills, talent pool at work place, love, respect, positivity, creativity, patience, solution seeking, empathy, firmness when needed, being approachable, balancing emotions, focus, and so on!

I have seen many people who resist abundance. They feel it’s a pain to have abundance. They feel it brings along more negativity than positivity. It distances people from each other and crates rift, rather than bonding.

I somewhere understand where they are coming from. But the problem isn’t abundance. The issue really is when arrogance and ego crops up! When they start thinking they are better than someone, they look down upon people, is when problems start. So the villain really isn’t abundance, but the inability to control the egos/ emotions.

Long ago I had heard my teacher say, “Having abundance is our responsibility, especially is we are a good human being! There are finite resources and energies available in the universe. If we don’t consume them someone who is a bad human being will catch hold of those energies/ resources and misuse them.”

As Indian cricket is seeing abundance, I so wish that each one of us reading this blog should soak into this abundance! Yes, abundance is not automatic; but needs to be earned. But we shall reach only when we start with a goal, and a strategy to achieve it!

Wishing you ABUNDANCE in all aspects of life!
