Do something

Do something worthwhile

He said

Nothing has been the same since.

Every moment of my awake

Every second of my slumber

Has been spent

In making sense of what he said

Do something, he said.

What do I do

I never knew

Forever lost I’ve been

I’ve kept doing something

With all my heart and soul

Never known if this is it.

Do something, he said.

Are my efforts enough?

Will this bring me glory?

No, that’s never the focus

All I want to do is follow his voice.

Do something, he said.

So till my last, I’ll just do my best

Smile through every pain

Smile when people join

Smile when people fail

Joyfully I’ll be forever on this path

Do something, he said

Do something worthwhile.

A little note about this poem. This poured out one day when I was going over what my Guru had said to me more than eight years back. Life has been a rollercoaster since and I dipped my toes in so many different work fronts. So much that I got to learn. So much growth deep within has happened and for every step of the way. I am eternally grateful to my guru, Sadhguru. I pray his grace remains forever over me and everyone.

A simple line can sometimes become a lifelong calling. “Do something worthwhile” beautifully captures the journey of searching, learning, stumbling, growing, and still choosing to give your best. A heartfelt reflection on finding purpose in the journey itself. ❤️
