What Is the Colour of Your Su-Su? What Your Urine Colour Says About Your Health

For me, one of the best events of the day is to make the kids sleep. I take them to bed, we say our prayers together and then a little conversation of 10-15 minutes before they go off to sleep, is a ritual we all love!

Few days back while lying on the bed, Anay shared, “Papa today my su-su colour was dark yellow.” I enquired, “Did you have enough water, or while playing you forgot to have water?” After little pondering, he said, “Maybe I didn’t drink enough water.” I asked him to stay observant next day and let me know again when we sleep.

Come next day, the rituals followed. Next moment I asked, “Anay – what was the colour of your su-su?” He was bewildered. He replied, “Papa, I didn’t observe today. I don’t know.” My immediate next question was, “Did you not go to su-su at all today?” Needless to say, he replied, “Ofcourse I did!”

I told him, “Though you did go to washroom few number of times, you didn’t observe the colour of your su-su, which means that while you were in washroom, your mind was somewhere else.” Of late Anay has got very passionate about cricket. So, an example of cricket would be apt, I thought. I reminded him, “if a batsman is playing on field, and thinking about the dinner he will have after the match, will he be able to score a century?”

I continued, “Likewise, if we have to do something amazing, creative and wonderful, the mind and body need to be in the same place. If not, we will not be able to achieve anything great!” A nod from him suggested that he (hopefully) understood what I meant.

Isn’t that the case with us adults too? Has the following ever happened with you –

  • You kept the car keys somewhere but don’t remember where
  • A friend had introduced his girlfriend to you yesterday, but today as she met you, you are not able to recollect her name
  • While having a shower you remembered to call a client for payment. As you reached office, you are not able to recollect whom you had to call
  • You’ve studied hard for the literature paper. But as you are writing it in the exam, one part of the story seems completely lost in your mind
  • You had kept your rings somewhere in the kitchen, but has been half and day you’re still trying to figure out where you had kept it
  • A quotation had been made, but you can’t figure out where you had saved in your laptop
  • While cooking, you don’t remember whether you had added salt or not
  • A friend had suggested a good social media guy. After a couple of months, you want to get started, but don’t recollect how you’ve saved their contact on your phone

Like these there will be instances where you know you had it, but just can’t recollect it when you need it. This is a classic case of your body being at one place, while your mind has wandered somewhere else. Though you were there, yet you were not there!

All efficient people have this unique capability of being able to be in same place physically and mentally.  That’s when the results are what we want them to be; and in lesser time than usual. It is not magical that some people remember more than us. It’s just that they are present in the moment.

Infact I have seen that when we are not present in the moment, we end up losing more time searching/ thinking than what we would have done if we were attentive. Apart from wasting time, we welcome stress, pressure and BP for ourselves. There is a disguised waste of time, which we could have used to just relax and unwind.

How to be in the moment you might ask ……. STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT BLOG
