Roshan Bhajankar is an ordinary labourer from Amravati, Maharashtra who has become a sensation and has hogged the limelight to become a participant in Big Boss Marathi Season 6.
Roshan Bhajankar, is a man shaped by physical labour, discipline, and quiet determination. He is known today as a bodybuilder, but his story goes far beyond muscles and medals. It is the story of an ordinary man who refused to give up on his dreams despite harsh realities.
Roshan’s fitness journey began around 2010–2011, a time when his family’s financial situation was extremely fragile. He studied only till Class 10. While attending school, he also worked to support his household and slowly developed an interest in gym training.
When he failed his Class 10 exams, Roshan made a tough decision to leave formal education and focus entirely on earning a living while continuing bodybuilding. His routine became brutally demanding. During the day, he worked as a labourer, and at night, he trained in the gym.
The situation at home left him with no room for comfort. Roshan supports his wife and two daughters by working as a hamal (Porter) at a railway station. His daily work involves lifting heavy cement bags, a task that tests. physical strength and mental endurance. For every cement bag he carries, Roshan earns just Rs 3.45. His income depends purely on how many loads he can lift in a day.
Even after exhausting physical labour, Roshan does not allow tiredness to defeat him. Once work ends, he heads straight to the gym. He has shared that although his body feels drained after a long day, working out gives him new energy. The gym, for him, is not just about fitness. It is a space where stress fades and hope returns, preparing him to face the next day with renewed confidence.
Roshan narrates that one fine day when he returned from the gym, his little daughter asked him, “Baba kenvha disnaar TV var?” (meaning – Papa, when will you seen on TV). The question left Roshan stunned. His mother covered up and said, “We are so poor. How can we ever be seen on TV?”
That moment changed everything for him. Everyone except Roshan agreed to his mother. Roshan told himself that he must do something, which will make him come on the TV. He never looked back from there. The amount of efforts he has put in to get into shape is commendable.
Further, social media changed Roshan’s life in unexpected ways. While continuing his daily labour work, he started posting honest videos on Instagram, talking openly about his routine, struggles, and dreams. One video, where he explained his life journey with complete sincerity, went viral.
With growing visibility came motivation and opportunity. Roshan began participating in bodybuilding competitions and won several awards. Now, through Bigg Boss Marathi 6, his story of struggle, discipline, and belief is reaching households across Maharashtra, reminding people that strength is built not just in the gym, but in life itself.
Today, we at THE POSITIVE DIARY salute the spirit of Maharashtra on occasion on Maharashtra Day, and World Labour Day!
