The Positive Diary

If you have bananas, target the apple cart.

Selling bananas in an apple market is to simply suggest my thought of being different. An attempt to stand out in a fiercely competitive marketplace. Certainly, holds true if your marketing budgets are limited or your offer is a me-too.

In a fruit market, placing bananas amongst bananas have very little chance to garnish attention. But if you must, your bananas need to be different… how about the big ones amongst the smaller variety? Or the other way round? Long story short, become a niche player.

Talking of fruit, I have sold them many. I have sold my mangoes at 4 times the market price. Because to me mangoes were not fruit. They were Corporate Gifts. Sold under the Bangoes brand.

More about that in my book. at https://www.prakashbang.com/the-entrepreneur/
