A few days back, I had gone to hear a talk-show by Sri M of Satsang Foundation, based out of Madanapalle, near Bangalore. The topic of the talk show was – “The Purpose of Human Life – ways and means to achieve it!”
He gave some very interesting insights on the above topic! It was mesmerizing to listen to him. I wished the talk could have gone on and on ….
In the entire 90 minutes, one line caught my attention. He was mentioning his conversation with the Pope at the Vatican City. The Pope said to Sri M, “Every saint has a past; and every sinner has a future!”
Isn’t this a fabulous statement?
All of us have a past. It can be good memories, happy times, enlightening moments, ecstatic experiences, blissful feelings, immense gratitude, and so on. These moments can be created by ourselves or by our loved ones, but get etched in our memories for good.
Do we etch the good memories and keep growing in love with ourselves? With every passing year, are we becoming more loving, peaceful, happy and content? Are we ready to learn from our mistakes and ensure we don’t repeat them? If the answer is yes, we are moving towards becoming a SAINT, who has a past full of rich experiences!
At the same time we have painful memories, hard to forget experiences, heart-shaking times, etc. Similarly, you would have done some things, which you still regret. Given a chance, you would want to change that. Even now you would be feeling guilty about it. But, reversing the past is not possible. You might be calling yourself a sinner. Let me congratulate you – you still have a great future! For every SINNER too have a future! All we need to do is – learn from our past errors and ensure we don’t repeat them!
THE BOTTOMLINE IS – All of us have a great future – be it relationships, professional life or personal self. We need to believe in it and work towards it assertively!

Fabulous!
Thanks brother
इसमें कोई भी नहीं बात नहीं कही है जो आश्चर्यचकित करती हो।
Then you’ve reached more towards Sainthood 😉
Repetition is the key to mastery….
So true….
Its a journey…not a goal…
I think being honest, humbly accepting mistakes, sincerely saying sorries and positively moving on to be a better person each day, makes beautiful and meaningful relationships too. Also, releases the burden of guilt.
That enriches the relation with me and others.
And teaches kids that accepting mistakes and saying sorry should be a cake walk.
Couldn’t agree more with you ….
