Last week, when I was leaving for work, my daughter and son were playing cricket in the veranda. I told them bye, and my daughter stopped me. She hugged me! And hugged for good 30 to 40 seconds. Then she kissed me. Again she hugged and kissed. And then said BYE! Seeing her, my son came running to me, hugged me and kissed on my tummy and said BYE!
In that moment, I was blushing, smiling and feeling very good. Ahh! What a feeling it was! I felt so relaxed, peaceful, and blushing a little while driving to work. Otherwise I am always on a roller coaster ride before I leave for work. Mornings are crazy for all women!
While driving to work, some realisations ponder! That touch and love of my kids began my day so beautifully. I thought – How many times do we hug our kids? When they are babies, it’s natural to hug them number of times. But when they grow up, how many times do we hug or pamper them? We tend to start refraining from touch as they become teens and then older.
Touch is the one of the biggest security we can give to our children. It makes them feel confident. It gives them comfort. It makes them feel safe. And most importantly, one of the best ways to express love.
Ek hug kar ke dekho yaar!!!
P.S – This FANDA of hugging works with our near and dear ones too!! Try it!!
Yes…a jaadu ki jhappi is magical. In our world which is so screen dominated, we need physical connect to keep us grounded.
