Whoever you are; whatever you do; irrespective or your age or gender; BALANCE is what each human being craves for. The only difference is that a few people are aware of that, whereas most people aren’t. Those who are aware take efforts to strike a balance. Those who are not aware await an incident or an experience to realise the importance of leading a balanced life.
Balance is not just about the roles of life. It is more than that –
- Work extremely hard, but do not ignore your kids. There is no point of having a regret during retirement that you didn’t invest time with your children. Time lost is gone forever.
- Balance the exercise workouts you do in the week. Just flexibility is not enough. Strength and Cardio is also important to stay fit.
- Eat a balanced diet. If you have had a heavy afternoon meal, keep your dinner light. The body will love you for it.
- As much as you are chirpy with friends, can you have similar excitement at home? Or does the family get only the worst of you?
- Being a loving and caring spouse that you are, do remember to have same love and care towards your mother and father who have nurtured you during your childhood irrespective of their issues and obstacles.
- Be an amazing student in your college. At the same time there might be quite a few who are weak and need help; go ahead and help them. Be a teacher to them.
- Outside food always tastes yummier than home cooked food. But yummier need not always be the healthiest.
- Internet governs the entire world. Do keep in mind that there is more to do around you than just the internet.
- Do not stuff your office with serious hardworking people. Have a few people who make the environment light. It will help improve the entire office efficiency.
- Never depend on one company/customer for your business. Have a mix. It will ensure that you are not taken to ransom by anyone.
- Have both – important discussions and humour in your marriage. It will make both of you look forward to each day.
- Give a lot of freedom to your kids to get out their best. But also know where you need to put brakes on them.
- As a sportsperson, balance out your training schedule to ensure that you don’t have any risk of injury during practice.
The entire creations of nature are great examples of balance – day/ night, light/ dark, summer/ monsoon, sun/moon, rich/ poor, tall/ short, sky/ land, ocean/ desert, black/ white, happiness/ sorrow, and so on. Nature seems to be giving us a message – “Look at the way I balance things. So must you balance your life.” Haven’t we seen that anytime we humans go against nature, it comes back with a vengeance?
Vis-à-vis my life –
I feel that usually I am a balanced person. I take conscious efforts to lead a balanced life. There are some instances where I have overlooked a few things and become unbalanced in certain areas. But I stand corrected, never to repeat that mistake again, once told. Yes, there is scope of improvement, and improve I will. Hence I love my signature at the end of the blog – ‘always upgrading…’
Let’s get aligned to nature. Let’s get in sync with life – the way it wants us to. Heart of heart, each one of us wants to be balanced. All it needs is a 3-point plan –
- A change in daily routine to accommodate the necessary things,
- Eagerness to change, and
- Self-control to ensure that the eagerness leads to action.
With these three points, I think it is easily possible to move from IMBALANCE to BALANCE!
