Have you gone through this – though situations are similar, my response might vary depending on how I feel at that moment or who is the other person involved. I just respond randomly. When I come back to my senses, I regret behaving that way. Have you gone through this?
I believe that the most common reason for this is – I HAVE NO CLARITY. As always, let us understand with a few examples where our responses show lack of clarity –
- I want to lose weight, but don’t have clarity on what to eat and what to avoid
- I am not enjoying the business I am in. But I continue what I am doing because I don’t know what else can be done
- With regards to customs and traditions, I neither follow them whole-heartedly with total surrender nor take efforts to understand them
- I wish to get married, but have no idea on what are the things / qualities I certainly want in my life partner, and what am I ready to compromise on
- My near and dear ones have some habits that I don’t like at all. I don’t know how to help them overcome it, nor am I able to accept them totally
- Whenever there is a sale, I have to go and buy, irrespective of whether my wardrobe needs it or not
- While designing for a site, if I have clarity on what the client needs and what they must be given additionally from an interior designer’s perspective, every site will turn out to be a masterpiece
- If I know that fitness is of prime importance to me, however busy I might be, I will find out the workout that suits me the best and do it religiously
- For me a mobile is just a medium to stay connected with everyone. When I know that I am not that tech savvy and won’t use all the functionalities, I need not spend money on buying the ‘trendiest’ phone
- If I understand myself well, I will know what kind of people I enjoy being with. I will make friends with only those people rather than trying to be with different kinds of people/ groups
- If I can genuinely understand the earnings I have, deciding on the kind of lifestyle I must live today will become easy. It might help me take a few crucial decisions.
- By itself, having kids is a great feeling. But how do I want to mould them is a crucial question that most parents don’t discuss with each other. Later, we are heartbroken with the way the kids behave
- How much money should I earn? If I earn more money than I need, how am I going to use it?
I feel that most of us don’t have clarity on the most important things of life, which pulls us back. If clarity is missing, I will always feel burdened and be under pressure. Smallest of instances where things don’t go my way, I might get angry, irritated, depressed, etc. On the other hand, if I have clarity, though some things might not go my way, I will still be ready to work things around the situation. Acceptance becomes ridiculously easy. When I have clarity, the speed of doing things just increases phenomenally. Decision-making seems to be effortless. Having clarity liberates me like crazy. It is a different joy altogether to feel that freedom.
Vis-a-vis my life –
If I look at my life, I have clarity in some aspects, but just do things randomly in others. From the start of this week, I have already started working on a few things where I think I want clarity. Got a few solutions/ideas too. As I get clarity on those aspects, that sense of freedom is an amazing feeling to have.
It would be so beautiful if all of us reading this blog decide to get clarity on a few important aspects of our lives – as a businessman, professional, student, homemaker, parent, etc. I pray that all of us get this experience of freedom through clarity. It will take a little work – thinking, jotting down, or discussions. But it will be totally worth it. Let me complete this blog by emphatically reiterating – CLARITY leads to FREEDOM!
