TONGUE – Best or Worst FRIEND?

Loading

A tongue is multi-talented! It must have done some amazing things in the past life (purva janama) to be blessed with such amazing things it can do. It can taste, sense, tickle the gums, clean teeth when needed, hold water, show emotions, wag, and most importantly – CONVEY YOUR THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS!

Yes! Whatever you are thinking or feeling invariably comes out with the help of the tongue. Without the cooperation of the tongue, you are dumb. The tongue can make you a hero or it can create a zero out of you!

ZERO

HERO

You are good for nothing.

You have great capabilities if you focus.

You always create problems

Is there anything that we can do so that you avoid doing such mistakes?

Why should I end up doing everything?

How should I communicate so that work is shared?

With this schedule, I have no time for myself.

How can I plan my day so that I also get ME time?

Her way of managing the house is irritating me a lot.

I must communicate with her to make her understand how I am feeling.

Nothing good is possible with colleagues like you.

Guys, let’s have a quick chat over a coffee on how to make things work well.

You shopkeepers only know how to loot customers.

The product has a problem. Can you please resolve it for me?

This idea is doomed. I’m challenging you the business won’t work.

The current business has limitations. Time to become more creative

Look at that athlete; your dedication to practice isn’t enough.

The way that athlete works out is inspirational. Your target should be to beat her next time

You are always glued to either the TV or phone. I’m highly sceptical of your future!

I understand you getting glued to gadgets. But you need to strike a balance with other important things too

A tongue that wags without any control invariably creates a dent in your personality. You are never seen as someone who can solve a situation. People will stay shut at that moment. But the moment you turn and go back, they will start backbiting you. They will never appreciate you handling that situation.

At the same time, if your anger or irritation comes out on someone who has a weak self-image, you would have done damage that would take a few days, or even months or years to get repaired. You can go and say sorry when you have calmed down; but you would have no idea how deep that person might have been hurt.

I can understand that you lose control on your emotions and hence your tongue sometimes (though, I firmly opine that you should have control on your anger. If you can’t control your anger, then we should let go any thoughts of controlling anything else – including employees, family, situations, etc.). But if that loss of control happens regularly, then you seriously need to scan yourself. Instead of you doing the talking, your tongue will talk.

A careless tongue will create a mountain of problems. If not now then definitely in the near future. Here is the saddest thing – your tongue invariably wags against the people whom you love the most – husband/wife, parents, in-laws, children, and your best friends. Is it worth to GIVE YOUR WORST TO YOUR BEST?

  1. Oh yes… Toung is also used to express feelings, emotions. Never realised I’m using for this besides eating! 😉

    Good one Amit!

  2. Very well articulated. And yes “words” are super powerful weapon. They can make one or destroy one. The purpose of words are to be dealt with caution as the communication is means of almost everything. Thanks for this beautiful article.

    1. Thanks Bro …. Yes, if we can be extra cautious and choose appropriate words, the world will be a different place altogether
