Have you seen some people around you who are male by gender, but can easily qualify as female in the way they do things? Or some who are born females act manly! We call such people as ‘girlish’ or ‘boyish’.
According to Indian scriptures, we are made up of – Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual elements. Calling someone boyish or girlish is based on just the lowest element – the Physical element. But there is more to we human beings, than this.
Our scriptures describe this phenomenon as masculine energy and feminine energy. It emphasizes that irrespective of the gender we are born, all of us have masculine energy and feminine energy within us. For some of us, the masculine energy is dominant and in some the feminine energy is dominant. Hence some might be born as male, but is seen acting like a female.
The feminine energy is flowing and dynamic. Her moves can’t be predicted or always explained with the rational mind. She is unrestricted by the social norms because she doesn’t follow any rules other than guidance coming from her heart (https://bit.ly/3tduAZg)
The masculine energy is stable and more predictable. Its strengths are willpower, clarity, and focus. The masculine energy likes to create structures and rules, so it knows how to apply the logic correctly (https://bit.ly/3tduAZg)
WHY SHOULD WE CARE?
Though we have access to reading and understanding our scriptures, we seem to care a damn about them. We don’t explore the rich heritage we have. As a result, most of us operate out of the basic aspect – the physical self. But we need to rise higher. Understanding the basic concept of Masculine energy (ME) and Feminine energy (FE) can help us immensely in many aspects of our life.
In relationships or associations, which are truly important to us, we must don the roles of both the energies – Masculine and Feminine, as the situation may demand. Doing this we will be able to reduce the friction and build an environment of understanding.
Lets look at what I mean –
- If you have had an argument with your wife/ partner/ girlfriend, become mild. Leave your dominance and increase your FE to make her feel loved. She doesn’t need your strength, but your understanding in those moments
- There are only daughters in the family. A tough situation has arisen where you need to stand tall and accept responsibility. Elevate your ME inside you and get things moving
- A field is said to be an all male field. Even if you’re a female, bring out your ME and get noticed in that field. A female with ME is easier to be noticed in hoards of men. Take advantage
- Your employee might be going through an issue, which he can’t handle and is teary eyed. Don’t tear him apart for crying or give him lecture. Instead elevate your FE and share your concern. That’s all he needs in the moment
- Your maid has broken expensive crockery. Don’t increase your ME and create havoc. Keep your FE active and let it go. Afterall humans are more important than an expensive piece of crockery
- If you child cries for small things, don’t term them as girlish. Instead understand the reason why they are crying. Call on your ME or FE depending on the situation. The kid should ultimately feel strong rather than weak and scared
- A male giving in or accepting his mistake with a female shouldn’t be taken as a loss. In those moments, raise your FE and agree to your error rather than becoming aggressive and elevating your ME
God has created MALE and FEMALE on this planet for a reason! One is incomplete without the other. It is snobbish to think that one gender is better over the other. It is high time we understand that gender is only to the physical body.
The more and most important thing is – MASCULINE ENERGY and FEMININE ENERGY and knowing when to activate which energy! Ideally we should live neutral like an ARDHANARISHWAR and depending on the situation, tilt in the required direction!
Though it is tough to do that and ego shattering to some, that’s the best way to live a happy and peaceful life!
